Band

Silk Tonic are a professional 4-piece band based in Toronto, consisting of a Female Lead Vocalist and 3 Male Vocalists. They have a wide repertoire of music ranging from 80s music right through to current day chart music. For this reason the band is suitable for most types of private functions.

Dennis Papadatos / Bass/Vocals

Dennis has been playing bass for over 10 years. He began as a trumpet player, but switched over to bass, which seemed to be an instrument used in all genres of music. Dennis has studied music at the famed MIT (Musicians Institute Of Technology) in Los Angeles California. He has traveled to many parts of the world with various bands, taking him as far as Japan for 3 months. Among his many projects, he has played with Liberty Silver and Tia Carrera (Wayne's World, The Relic Hunter), and has shared the stage with Natalie Cole, Finger Eleven, Dixie Chicks, Randy Bachman, Alanah Miles and Jeff Healey to name several. He currently resides in Toronto, Ontario, where he currently is a full time musician and part time music teacher.   

 

Alison Downer / Lead Vocals

Alison Downer is a singer, songwriter and performer originally from Mississauga. From day one, even as a rural dweller, there was no question she was born to perform. Now, residing in Toronto, Alison continues to pursue her passion for performance both musically and dramatically. Vocally, her sound is diverse; she can deliver bold and bright diva solos like Beyonce or rough and rugged reverb like Amy Winehouse. She loves to experiment with sound and most importantly, ensure that everybody is engaged in the performance.  

 

Stacey Hughes / Drums

Stacey has traveled the world as a musician. Graduate of Humber College Jazz Program, Stacey has played on countless albums, in Many ensembles throughout his career, as well as touring internationally.  

 

Trevor Grose / Guitar

A veteran of many Acts, top 40, Tribute, and power Trios, Trevor has performed extensively over his career doing multiple recordings, Casino, and corporate events.  

 

Larry Galea / Drums

Larry received his first drum kit at the age of 15, and has had the passion for music ever since. As a self-taught drummer, it was his love of Jazz, Blues, Rock, Fusion, Alternative Rock & Country music that built the foundation of his playing ability. From there, watching and listening to other drummers from all genres, has allowed for many opportunities in the music industry. Whether on stage or in the studio, the challenge is to "play what's right for the song", that continues to develop in his style and versatility as a musician.
